How to Downgrade Your Plan

Important: Downgrade Timing

Unlike upgrades, downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll retain full access to your current plan's features until then.

1

Navigate to Subscription Settings

Go to Settings β†’ Subscription β†’ Change Plan

2

Select Lower-Tier Plan

Choose the plan you want to downgrade to. You'll see a warning about any features or data that may be affected.

⚠️ Important Checks:
β€’ Will your current data fit within the new limits?
β€’ Do you have more users than the new plan allows?
β€’ Will you lose access to any features you're currently using?
3

Review Downgrade Details

The system will show you:

β€’ When the downgrade takes effect
β€’ New limits and features
β€’ Features you'll lose access to
β€’ Any actions you need to take (e.g., remove users, delete data)
4

Confirm Downgrade

Click "Confirm Downgrade". Your downgrade is scheduled but won't take effect until the end of your billing period.

πŸ’‘ Good to know: You can cancel a pending downgrade at any time before it takes effect if you change your mind.

Understanding Prorated Billing

πŸ’°

What is Proration?

When you upgrade mid-billing cycle, we calculate the cost for the remaining days of your current period at your new rate, minus any unused portion of your previous plan.

Example Calculation:
β€’ Current plan: Free ($0/month)
β€’ Upgrading to: Starter ($49/month)
β€’ Billing cycle: 30 days
β€’ Days remaining in cycle: 15 days
β€’ Prorated charge: $49 Γ— (15/30) = $24.50

Billing After Upgrade

After upgrading:

βœ“You're charged the prorated amount immediately
βœ“On your next billing date, you're charged the full monthly amount
βœ“Your billing date doesn't changeβ€”it stays the same
⬇️

Downgrade Billing

For downgrades, we don't issue refunds for the current period. Instead:

β€’You keep your current plan's features until the end of the billing period
β€’Starting next billing cycle, you're charged at the lower rate
β€’No refunds or credits for unused time on the higher plan

What Happens After You Change Plans

βœ… After Upgrading

βœ“All higher limits take effect immediately
βœ“New features become available right away
βœ“Your usage counters remain the same (don't reset)
βœ“You can invite more users or add integrations immediately
βœ“API rate limits increase instantly

⚠️ After Downgrading

!Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period
!You may need to remove users or integrations before the downgrade
!Some features may become unavailable
!If you exceed new limits, you'll need to reduce usage or upgrade again
!Data is safeβ€”nothing is deleted automatically

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I upgrade multiple times in one billing period?

Yes! Each upgrade is prorated based on the remaining days in your billing cycle. However, we recommend choosing a plan that gives you room to grow to avoid frequent upgrades.

What if I downgrade but then exceed the new limits?

Before a downgrade takes effect, we'll check if you're within the new limits. If not, you'll receive warnings and must reduce usage (e.g., remove users, delete data) or cancel the downgrade.

Can I cancel a pending downgrade?

Yes! As long as your downgrade hasn't taken effect yet, you can cancel it from your subscription settings and keep your current plan.

Do I get a refund if I downgrade mid-cycle?

No. When you downgrade, you retain access to your current plan until the end of the billing period, so no refund is issued. The lower price takes effect on your next billing date.

Can I upgrade directly to Enterprise?

Enterprise plans require speaking with our sales team for custom pricing and features. Click "Contact Sales" on the pricing page to get started.
